Christmas Cookin' At The Galley

We just heard from a Galley owner about their first Christmas with the Galley...

"I had a blast preparing our first big meal with our new 4' Galley. We had 38 people over for dinner and it sure made my life MUCH easier than previous years. As you can see in the attached picture, cutting 10 pounds of potatoes was a breeze (along with The Pampered Chef crinkle cutter –haha). We even used the Divider for ice which worked well. Other highlights for me… LOVED being able to mix up my double batch of corn casserole in the extra large bowl instead of trying to mix it in the casserole dish. Also, we cooked our two turkeys on Saturday. When the first finished, I put it in the extra large bowl to pull off all the meat instead of doing it in the roaster like I usually do – this allowed me to put the 2nd bird in the roaster and oven quickly. LOVED my Galley at Christmas!"

Chef Alex Forsythe at the Galley

Last Friday Chef Alex Forsyth was filmed cooking at the Galley.

Thanksgiving at the Galley

A Galley owner tells us about his experience on Thanksgiving with his brand new Galley!...

We recently purchased a Galley and fortunately it was installed in time for Thanksgiving.  The Galley sink made all the food preparation from carving the Prime Rib and Turkey, cutting up Vegetables for the Dressing, peeling Potatoes, etc... everything so quick and easy.  We actually used the boards over the sink as serving trays and all 15 of our guests had no problem "walking through the serving line" and filling their plates.  Clean up was a snap.  My wife, who doesn't cook much, actually is very pleased and surprised on how convenient the Galley Sink makes her life.  We love it and everyone should own a Galley!!

They are using every bit of their brand new Galley,  in addition to the new Bamboo Cutting Board!
Makes for such a pretty picture...

A Kitchen Worthy of a Chef!

What a beautiful transformation! Chef Michael Fusco now has an
extremely functional kitchen ready to create fabulous dinners at home!
The hub of this kitchen is definitely the Galley. All prep, cooking, and clean up will be happening right here.
The Galley Rack keeps the large items out of the way but still within reach.
This wall became pantry storage, refrigerator and oven space.

Full-extension roll outs below the Galley provide ample storage for all of the accessories and more. That’s something a ‘regular’ kitchen sink can’t offer!

Making The Galley Work For You

A new 4' Mini Galley owner came in yesterday and purchased 2 Galley Dividers. She told us how excited she was to use them for parties... One to hold ice and keep wine chilled, and the other to ice shrimp while leaving the middle section of the sink open for use. Brilliant!

Bath Time at the Galley

What a great idea! No more kneeling at the bath tub to bathe the kiddos. Everything's comfortably in reach, too!

People continue to find creative ways to use their Galleys in every day life.

The pullout spray helps rinse the child off without making a big mess. How easy!

A New Galley Kitchen... Style + Function = Wow!

This newly completed kitchen with a 5 1/2' Undermount Galley paints a beautiful picture of style and function!

This kitchen is our version of the perfect family room.  Prep food at the Galley while the kids do homework at the peninsula.  Where else would you want to be, especially with the TV right there?

5 ½’ undermount Galley with a Galley rack

The Galley is set up, ready to go... along with plenty of storage beneath,
and double gas and induction cooktops side by side.

Complete kitchen work station.  The Galley Rack holds large
bowls and pots, while providing light for the Galley below.

Cutting boards, drain rack, and colanders are ready and waiting there for daily use.

Two upper-tier cutting boards are added to create more counter space next to the
cooktops, and there’s still a large portion of the sink available to use.

Double gas and induction cook tops are located right next to the Galley.

The island is a natural landing spot for items from the fridge. Makes it easy to take them from the island to the microwave, or to the clean up sink, or straight to the Galley to prep or cook on the gas & induction cook tops.

This kitchen is a beautiful picture of function.  No matter the task at hand, it’s easy to do here.

Convection oven is located in the island.

Pull out double trash in the island, right behind the Galley.

Main dishwasher with a single-drawer dishwasher to the right of it.

This kitchen screams function! The refrigerator, microwave, clean up sink,
full dishwasher and single-drawer dishwasher are all grouped together. All of these items
here work smoothly in conjunction with the Galley.

Seating area of the peninsula.  There is extra storage below the counter on this side.

As shown here, there is plenty of room to work behind the Galley, or at the center island. Lots of room but everything is still close enough to reach without having to run all over the place!

Deer Meat at the Galley

This Galley's owner sent us a snapshot of grinding up deer meat for chili last night. She hunts daily, and her Galley has become a HUGE asset to her. She noted, "I'm able to butcher and wrap a deer in just over one hour! It turns into the coolest wrap station in the blink of an eye. This sink is great, thank you for making my life so much easier... I am a true fan of the Galley sink!"

Galley News: Testimonial of a Galley client!

To my engineering mind, I immediately recognized the perfect function of the Galley.  It consolidates several actions into one, therefore being highly efficient.  But my wife didn't see it that way, her comment was that it looked to her like a big trough, and would be out of place in our kitchen.  Roger heard her, so did not even mention the Galley to us for our remodel project.  But after two or three meetings with him, in which he introduced us to and sold us on induction cooking, she couldn't help but see the videos of the Galley that were playing in the background.

Long story short, she now wants a Galley.  I quizzed her, though, when she gave me that news.  I asked her, "Do you say that because you saw the videos and are sold because of them, or, can you envision yourself at the Galley, cooking the things that you would normally cook?"  She said she now sees herself with a Galley, and that she wishes it could be here tomorrow!

OK Foodie Event at Sage Culinary

Dan Potter from KRMG's "OK Foodie" hosted an event at Sage Culinary last night, and Roger and his crew were invited to attend. Chef Nick Samara from the Celebrity Club was the guest chef, and outdid himself with his legendary caesar salad and fried chicken. Katherine DeCamp, the owner of Sage, is both talented and gracious as evidenced in the creative showroom and cooking school area at Sage.

The event will be broadcast Saturday at 1 pm on KRMG, and again on Sunday at noon. Tune in if you can, and enjoy Dan's commentary as the evening played out. Roger was acknowledged more than once for being in the audience, apparently news of the Galley had preceeded him!

Beautiful kitchen - before & after!

It's hard to believe that these two photos were taken from the same spot!  In the 'before' kitchen, all the prep work was done at the little sink to the right of the cook top.  What a difference now!

Shrimp Cocktail at the Galley™

Preparing shrimp cocktail at the Galley™ this weekend was a breeze! We utilized the colander to ice the shrimp, the upper-tier cutting board to hold the serving glasses, and the condiment board to hold the ingredients for the salad in the glasses. Now, If only there were some leftovers....

Galley™ News: Client Testimonial

A recent testimonial from a Galley™ owner:

"After using our Galley™ for 8 months now, I cannot imagine working in a kitchen without one. We're so used to the great function of the sink with all its accessories, and with having the built-in induction cook top at the end.  I don't know how people work without one now!  In fact, if we ever had to move, the first thing I'd make sure of before we bought a new house is that we could put a Galley in that kitchen."

Chicken Piccata on Induction at the Galley™

The 7' Galley™ was most accommodating for this, and as you can see, we used every square inch. It was also an educational experience, because we compared the 110v portable induction with the 220v portable induction. We were pleasantly surprised with the results!
This is the portable CookTek 220v induction cook top, used with a cast iron skillet. The settings on this higher-wattage cook top range from 1 (low) to 20 (high). In this photo, we had just turned it down to 5, because 9 in the first photo was way too high and almost scorched the chicken.

This is the 110v induction cook top with a regular (not cast iron) skillet. On setting 5, the cook tops were both similar in heat output, but the cast iron caused the chicken to brown more.

This is the Galley™ in full swing! The two metal trays are a standard size from a restaurant supply, and they fit perfectly on the lower tier. Guess we need a splatter screen now, but the great thing was, it cleaned up easily because the burner didn't get hot enough to cause it to stick. If we were using an electric cooktop we would've had to scrub for who knows how long! That another beauty of induction cooking.

At the other end of the Galley™, we were able to let this sauce simmer by pre-setting
the heat to 160°F on this induction burner.

The lesson learned today was that both induction cook tops performed the same from levels 1 to 6. The 220v cook top is capable of going to level 20, but costs around $1000.00. The only reason to require that kind of power would be to boil a large pot of water. For most everything else, the 110v cook top is more than adequate! So for $150 you can have the option of cooking anywhere you'd like, even outdoors. Makes you want to get 3 or 4 of them, doesn't it?
